Supplier & Product Reliability Assurance
The work group is developing a Supplier Reliability Assurance Guideline. The focus of this project is to standardize methodologies that will make the Supplier Reliability a standard, measurable and a quantifiable tool. It is also in-scope for the group to develop a self assessment tool that will enable each supplier to see where they stand related to industry requirements.
Truck & Heavy Equipment Steering Committee
The Truck & Heavy Equipment Steering Committee was formed to direct and prioritize initiatives for the Truck & Heavy Equipment industries. The intent is to create best practices, guidelines, and establish industry positions as appropriate. The committee also works with other steering committees to maintain support in ongoing projects that affect T&HE as well as automotive.
Warranty BOD Harmonization Group
AIAG Warranty Claim BODs need to be harmonized with STAR. This activity is crucial as major OEMs in the Truck Industry have already invested in their infrastructure to enable them to utilize STAR BODs. This will be a collaborative effort between AIAG- representing it's EWS and T&HE Warranty WGs, TMC- Technology Management Council of American Truck Association which represents the fleets, and STAR. The EWS WG, T&HE Warranty WG, TMC and the key truck OEMs have all collectively agreed that this activity needs to take place ASAP. The final deliverable will be a Industry POC which will validate all existing warranty claim BODs at AIAG.
Warranty Work Group
The Warranty Work Group has developed a set of standard warranty codes in line with their project charter which called for a common, standards-based electronic warranty process between customers and suppliers in the Truck and Heavy Equipment Industry. OAGI compliant BoDs (Business Object Documents) have been developed to accommodate a global implementation. An industry-wide Proof of Concept pilot is being developed to validate the warranty code.
