Soldering System Assessment
The goal of this project is the development of a common process approach to control special processes and a methodology to evaluate and remediate. AIAG has already published the Heat Treat System Assessment, Coating System Assessment, and the Plating System Assessment. The assessment will iclude a management system that provides for continual improvement, emphasizing defect prevention and the reduction of variation and waste in the supply chain.

The manual includes a CD which contains the soldering system assessment worksheets.

Benefits to the automotive industry include gaining a better understanding of a manufacturing process not well understood by OEMs and Tier 1s today. A common solution to ensure quality, reliability of supplied components to the industry. The supply chain will be able to identify areas that need improvement at their special process facilities as well as improving their process capability.
