Supplier & Product Reliability Assurance
The work group is developing a Supplier Reliability Assurance Guideline. The focus of this project is to standardize methodologies that will make the Supplier Reliability a standard, measurable and a quantifiable tool. It is also in-scope for the group to develop a self assessment tool that will enable each supplier to see where they stand related to industry requirements.

Business Case
This project will develop a supplier reliability assurance process with checklists and procedures applicable to a wide array of product programs, similar to the Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA) process. It will promote the implementation of THE-7 and THE-7IG across the truck and heavy equipment industries. Case studies and sample datasets from THE-7 and THE-7IG will reinforce understanding. This compliments THE-7 and THE-7IG by explicitly stating expectations of responsibility and timing. If successful, it could be used as a supplier reliability assurance package that can be evaluated by engineering, purchasing, and supply management and will increase customer-supplier relationships. Tentative Deliverables: High-level process flow chart focusing on the transactions between customer and supplier based on APQP and THE-7; High-level process steps and tasks descriptions of the transactions between customer and supplier based on THE-7; RASIC chart for each high-level process step showing the roles and responsibilities of customer and supplier; Checklist for supplier deliverables based on THE-7 and THE-7IG, including reliability considerations in supplier selection, component reliability design analyses, and component reliability testing; Examples of supplier deliverables based on a case study, including reliability considerations in supplier selection, component reliability design analyses, and component reliability testing
