Pedestrian Presence Sensing Work Group
This committee has formed in 2009 to study pedestrian presence sensing devices. These devices are a relatively new technology that may reduce risk and need exploring. To aid the operator in identifying potential contact with equipment and pedestrians, presence sensing systems mounted on the vehicle to alert the operator of a potential strike may be the next level of integration and need to be evaluated. If you are a manufacturer, seller, or user of powered industrial trucks, we need you. This new committee will research, identify, and test available systems and devices. The results of this evaluation will be published and made available to the industry.
