Quality Management Updates

The Power of Working Collaboratively

Our mission is to enable collaboration within the automotive and related industries and to provide access to information, education and the tools needed so our stakeholders can continually improve the environment in which they operate.

AIAG projects, activities and toolkits are focused on workgroup developed initiatives, including:

A Common Understanding and Commitment
The leadership of several AIAG member companies determined in the fall of 2005 to develop a shared approach around issues of corporate social responsibility in order to ensure that suppliers had a common message from the industry. Corporate Responsibility Guidance Statement

To this goal, AIAG provides an open forum where volunteers from all layers of the supply chain work together to resolve issues critical to the automotive supply chain. Download Flyer
Driving Higher Quality, Lower Costs and Faster Cycle Times
Driving Higher Quality, Lower Costs and Faster Cycle Times
Effective collaboration requires efficient communication among automotive OEMs, parts suppliers and vendors. AIAG brings all of these parties together to initiate and continually improve the sharing of information through multiple work groups and project teams. Download Flyer
Continuous Improvement with Broad-Based Engagement
AIAG is a catalyst for achieving peak performance through its unique insight into industry issues, candid collaborative experts and delivery of real practical solutions that address the challenges of quality, cost, and speed throughout the global supply chain. Through AIAG, there are literally hundreds of noncompetitive areas where automotive OEMs and suppliers - working collaboratively - drive significant improvements in cost, quality and customer satisfaction.

AIAG promotes its objectives primarily by publishing standards and offering educational conferences and training. Examples include the Advanced Product Quality Planning/Production Part Approval Process (APQP/PPAP) standards in which techniques and tools designed to identify problems and ensure quality are prescribed. Achieving Peak Efficiency
Recent events have clearly demonstrated the challenges in managing the scope, scale and complexity of today's automotive supply chain

AIAGs materials management, ecommerce and logistics initiatives are far-reaching and can have a significant impact on supply chain efficiency - whether the goal is to improve the flow of information, reduce in-transit damage, speed up the flow of parts through international borders, or provide greater visibility anywhere in the system.

AIAG Supply Chain Management initiatives provide guidelines, training and educational opportunities to understand and manage the complexity and scope of supply chain issues. Download Flyer.
