AIAG is a catalyst for achieving peak performance through its unique insight into industry issues, candid collaborative experts and delivery of real practical solutions that address the challenges of quality, cost, and speed throughout the global supply chain. Through AIAG, there are literally hundreds of noncompetitive areas where automotive OEMs and suppliers - working collaboratively - drive significant improvements in cost, quality and customer satisfaction.

AIAG promotes its objectives primarily by publishing standards and offering educational conferences and training. Examples include the Advanced Product Quality Planning/Production Part Approval Process (APQP/PPAP) standards in which techniques and tools designed to identify problems and ensure quality are prescribed.
