Quality Management Updates

3D Product Definition and Collaboration
GD&T is part of Product Manufacturing Information (PMI) to capture and communicate the physical quality controls for a product. 3D GD&T as part of a Model Based Definition (MBD) program will enable the early creation & communication of high quality GD&T, which can be systematically reviewed online with downstream manufacturing and quality operations.

This committee is working to make 3D Annotated Model as the Master, which would enable concurrent development, front loading, no prototype vehicle development, seamless release, and increased consumption of 3D Product Definition data. The goal is to build a stronger foundation by standardization activities going beyond our industry and practical verification of cutting edge technologies taking future trends into consideration. The project consists of four primary use cases:
  • Die Engineering
  • SPOT Welding
  • Inspection Quality Check
  • Making Service Manuals

Program Manager: Ms. Nancy R. Malo - AIAG (248) 358-3570
