Special Process Assessments
The goal of the AIAG Special Process Initiative is the reduction of campaigns, spills, recalls and warranty claims related to components from "Special Processes." The Special Process Initiative is comprised of work groups that develop assessments systems designed to provide a uniform evaluation of processes commonly specified by automobile manufacturers and suppliers today.

The assessments specify process requirements for an organization or its suppliers performing the applicable process, which need to demonstrate ability to consistently provide product that meets customer and applicable regulatory requirements, and enhance customer satisfaction through the effective application of the system, including processes for continual improvement of the system.

The AIAG Special Process System Assessments are applicable to sites where customer-specified parts for production and/or service are processed throughout the automotive supply chain.

Deliverables to date are Special Process: Heat Treat Systems Assessment, 3rd edition, Special Process: Plating Systems Assessment, 2nd edition, Special Process: Coating Systems Assessment, 2nd edition, Special Process: Welding Systems Assessment , and Special Process: Soldering Systems Assessment
