by Greg Creason | Jul 30, 2018

In advance of the AIAG-VDA FMEA Handbook release scheduled for late 2018, AIAG announces an official date for the formal introduction of the handbook and training in China.

SOUTHFIELD, Michigan, July 26, 2018 – AIAG today announces the Chinese rollout of the highly anticipated new AIAG-VDA FMEA Handbook and training.

The open industry stakeholder review of the draft version of the AIAG-VDA FMEA Handbook, 1st Edition, has been completed. Thousands of comments/responses were received from FMEA practitioners around the world. The AIAG and VDA are collaborating diligently to review and disposition all stakeholder comments.

The new AIAG-VDA FMEA Handbook is scheduled for release in late 2018. Therefore, any training being offered prior to publication is invalid, inaccurate, and potentially misleading as it is based on the first draft version of the document. Supplier efforts to implement or transition to the new AIAG-VDA FMEA methodology should only occur after the new handbook is published.

AIAG and VDA have scheduled a formal introduction of the official AIAG-VDA FMEA Handbook, 1st Edition, and the sanctioned AIAG-VDA training for Chinese suppliers on 12 December 2018 in Shanghai.
