Current Status of Audits of IMMEX Companies

Overview

All supply chains in Mexico, along with their U.S. and Canadian counterparts, are geared toward the automotive industry.  Supporting this robust manufacturing sector in Mexico is a government program called Industria Manufacturera, Maquiladora y de Servicios de Exportacion (or "IMMEX") focused on promoting foreign investment and exports, creating jobs, and developing technology. As every company - whether OEM or Tier supplier - dealing with automotive companies in Mexico knows, IMMEX operations are an integral part of the supply chain. IMMEX operations have stringent requirements, and audits are not only commonplace, but increasing in frequency.
