Global automakers and AIAG are collaborating to ensure the ethical, transparent, and compliant supply chains — together advancing human rights and responsible sourcing across our industry.
For the first time, six leading manufacturers—Ford, General Motors, Honda, Nissan, Stellantis, and Toyota—have come together in a joint letter to suppliers, signaling a unified approach to forced labor due diligence. This includes new reporting requirements using AIAG's DDRT common approach for select suppliers in September 2025 followed by broader supplier requirements in 2026.

The AIAG Forced Labor Due Diligence program provides automotive companies of every size with a standardized, industry-developed approach to identifying, managing, and reporting forced labor risks across the global supply chain. Built in partnership with multiple OEMs, suppliers, and compliance experts, this industry-supported program delivers:
Protecting People, Strengthening Industry Insight. People and the environment are the automotive industry's most important resources. Upholding social responsibility protects workers, communities, and the long-term sustainability of our global value chain.
New forced labor due diligence laws require companies to identify, address, and report on risks across their supply chains. Enforcement actions — such as shipment detentions by U.S. Customs and Border Protection — underscore the importance of proactive compliance.
Together this shared approached ensures consistency, reduces duplication, and strengthens the industry's ability to identify and address forced labor risk.
The DDRT simplifies reporting and minimizes duplicative efforts for organizations of all sizes.
