Core Tools Software

As a user of the AIAG Quality Core Tools, you know they are central to conducting business in the automotive industry. Currently, tools such as FMEA and Control Plan are being completed using spreadsheets or specialized software.

A recent AIAG voice of customer survey found that a majority of core tools users would prefer a better solution that includes robust security, form linkage, project management/task tracker, reporting, and international multi-lingual capability.

To respond to the needs of the industry, the AIAG development team is creating a Software as a Service (SaaS) cloud application based on the Microsoft development tools and hosting will be provided worldwide via the Microsoft Azure Cloud Computing Platform. This new software will support DFMEA, Process Flow, PFMEA, Control Plans, and Gage R&R studies, along with several other support forms that are referenced in the Core Tools manuals.

On October 3, 2018, AIAG program manager John Cachat, and members of the volunteer work group developing this product provided an update on the status of the Core Tools Software project, including an overview of the program and AIAG’s launch plans for the Core Tools Software.

This project is scheduled to launch in the first quarter of 2019.
