Course Information

Control Plans contain the operational details your process needs to function  - and play a role in the success of other tools such as FMEA and SPC - yet only a limited number of individuals possess adequate knowledge to make the document highly effective as well as efficient.

In this single day course, we will dive into the Control Plan 1st edition to better understand what it should look like, and how to implement it using best practices and expertise from the field.

Designed for a variety of learners, this training is particularly catered toward beginners, including engineers looking to create their first Control Plan, auditors in need of more information on what a Control Plan should contain, and associates who need to get back into Control Plans and understand what's evolved over time.

As the Control Plan is one of the most closely scrutinized documents in the Core Tools series, we've dedicated extra time in the course to review certain areas that are frequently overlooked. This includes:

  • A special emphasis on Product and Process characteristics so you understand the causal relationships.
  • A strategic approach to sample size and frequency so you do not ruin an otherwise high-functioning FMEA.
  • Best practices around monitoring the Control Plan, guarding against unnoticed changes that could negatively impact your control strategy.

If you're looking for comprehensive training on Control Plans covering everything from development to maintenance, this course is one you won't want to miss.

·  Managers overseeing associates creating Control Plans

·  Engineers and associates creating Control Plans

·  Auditors looking for a deeper understanding of what a Control Plan should contain.

Course Outline

Day 1 -

·  Fundamentals of Control Plan (Definitions and concepts including key linkages to APQP and FMEA)

·  Control Plan development

·  Control Plan phases (Prototype, Pre-launch, Safe Launch, Production)

·  Effective use of Control Plans (Reverse PFMEA, software, LPA's, Control Plans in Highly Automated Processes)
