IATF 16949 3rd Party New Auditor Training (Certification Body)

Overview

Step 1 - Connect With Your Attendee To Get Started
As the official contact for a sponsoring CB, please work with the candidate to complete required application documents before providing them to AIAG (thirdpartycert@aiag.org). These documents include:

1. The “IATF 16949 3rd Party New Auditor Training & Assessment Application – Qualification Form,” with your signature as the official sponsoring CB contact.

2. An updated CV/resume that clearly lists the candidate’s four (4) years of appropriate, full-time practical experience, including two (2) years dedicated to quality assurance and/or quality management activities within the past 15 years in an automotive manufacturing organization meeting the applicability of IATF 16949.

3. A copy of the candidate’s Auditor or Lead Auditor ISO 9001 certificate.

4. The candidate’s Audit Log, which must clearly list, at minimum, six (6) ISO 9001 audits in manufacturing industries, including at least three (3) as audit team leader.
Step 2 - AIAG Approval/Start Prerequisites
After AIAG receives the initial application documents, we will review and approve the materials before initiating the candidate’s ADP account for prerequisite trainings. The candidate will then receive a separate email from the ADP portal to complete their registration, and you will be notified of a new auditor registration.

As the sponsoring CB, your organization will either pay the initial $250 Annual Fee or forward it to the candidate for payment, after which they can access the IATF ADP to complete the following prerequisites:*

1. IATF 16949 Training and Quiz 
2. Rules 5 Training and Quiz 
3. Knowledge Pre-Study Exams 
4. FMEA and Control Plan Training and Quiz
5. MSA and SPC Training and Quiz
6. AIAG-VDA FMEA Training and Quiz 

*The candidate must successfully pass all six prerequisites to move forward. 
Step 3 - New Auditor Training/Assessment
Once the candidate has successfully passed all prerequisites, please provide us with their completed “IATF 16949 3rd Party New Auditor Training & Assessment Application – Registration Form” and certificates for the ADP prerequisite courses. 

We will then register your candidate for their training session and schedule their exam in the ADP portal.
